Intervention
Cruelty and neglect of companion animals takes many forms. Often the physical abuse and neglect is easy to spot but it’s not always easy to identify or prove the suffering of a companion animal that is deprived of companionship, exercise and interaction with his family. We’ve all seen dogs chained in back yards for hours if not days or weeks at a time, we’ve seen “dog lots” in the back yard that confine large active dogs to a small area where they’re barely able to stretch their legs, let alone play and do normal dog things, and we’ve probably all wondered why those particular dog owners bother to own a dog if all they’re going to do is keep it chained in the back yard!
