Volunteering With Us

Adult Volunteers

There are many opportunities to volunteer with us for individuals 17 years* or older able to commit to helping at least 4 hours a month. * if you are under 17 and would like to volunteer,  you may do so but you must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with the following jobs:

How to get started

1. Download the application, volunteer manual and volunteer contract.
2. Call the Lynchburg Humane Society 434-846-1438 and sign yourself up for one of the following orientations:
       
                            September 10, 2010 at 11:00am
                            September 25, 2010 at 11:00 am
   
   We have limited space so do not just show up! Orientations last about 45 mins and consists of a brief tour.  Please bring your forms with you.
3. Start volunteering and helping the animals of the Lynchburg Humane Society.
   If you are interested in one of the following jobs then specialized training will be scheduled: Adoption counseling, Humane Educators, Dog walking or Kennel assistant.
